I am passionate about inspiring scientific interest, understanding and excitement in people of all ages. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. I then moved to Perth Australia where I completed a Master of Science Communication degree at the University of Western Australia. My master’s research explored the impacts of a marine debris citizen citizen science program on participating teachers. After discovering how much I enjoyed science communication research, I decided to continue my studies at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. My PhD research explored people’s perceptions of future travel, how these expectations aligned with the idea of a low carbon future, and how story could be used to influence people’s expectations surrounding a future with lower carbon travel.
