I grew up in Canada and obtained my Bachelor of Science from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. My honours thesis looked at the relationship between bacterial disease resistance and salt stress in the plant Thellungiella (now called Eutrema). I then moved to Perth, Australia and completed a Master’s of Science Communication at the University of Western Australia. In Australia my research focused on the impacts of a citizen science in primary and secondary schools. Currently, I am working on a PhD at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.
