Andrea Liberatore

Andrea is a research assistant at the Longnecker Lab. Her work involves research on various aspects of participatory or citizen science including the New Zealand Garden Bird Survey and the Otago Participatory Science Platform.

Andrea holds a BS in Biology and a Masters from the University of Michigan’s School of Natural Resources and Environment. Her previous work experience has been in laboratories, museums, environmental education, and two years working in rural primary schools in South Africa with the United States Peace Corps.

Born and raised in the US, Andrea relocated to New Zealand with her family in 2013. She enjoys spending her free time exploring the great outdoors with her sons, usually with a magnifying glass and a camera close at hand.
